Rise Night Club now cancelled
Posted July 12th, 2005 by Phil
After being rained-out and then rescheduled, the Rise Night Club gig has been whacked by Coors. Apparently, the jackasses at Coors feel that it's far more important to provide the public with Sterling Marlin's #40 NeckCAR veehickle (GO FAST, TURN LEFT! COO-COO!) than it is to give you, the intelligent listener proper, kick-ass music.
They've cancelled all of Rise Night Club's happy-hour patio venues until further notice. As you may have guessed, we as well are victims of this corporate down-sizing. But not to worry, Coors Light is still sponsoring other fine products and venues for your enjoyment such as:
The Colorado Rockies - only the worst team in the National League. C'mon down, plenty of good seats still available.
Sterling Marlin's #40 NeckCAR rig - as of this posting, he's 23rd in the NEXTEL Cup rankings. Only the top 10 qualify for the championship. YEEHAW! Another fine sponsorship.
Eminem and Fitty Cent with Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz at the Coors Amphitheater on the same night you all would have come to our gig. Fine, fine, musi- I mean sampling. It must be better than people who actually play their instruments, this show is still on.
So, as you can see Coors has made their choices - I'll make mine. I've got a few Coors Lights in my fridge that just might have to find the bottom of the drain. Feel free to crack open a Bud or (shudder) a Miller, and salute another horrible corporate decision.
