Chad Phillips - Bass

Born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1970, Chad's interests and spiritual makeup drove him gradually westward, ending up in Boulder around mid-2003. With a late start (he didn't play an instrument until he was 20--hell, he didn't get laid until he was 20...) there was a lot of catching up to do. In 1996, Chad co-founded Harmony Hut Records, a small private recording studio nestled in the woods of Ambridge, PA--where he began to hone his skills as a recording musician and engineer/producer. When the studio dissolved in 2001 Chad took a break from music, picking it back up when he moved to Boulder. He spent a year on the management team for Dharma Pop Records, where he was in charge of accounting, distribution, and systems design (yawn...). During this time he began playing bass for the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Stuart Davis, ocassionally touring with Stuart, and appearing as the bass player in his live concert DVD in June, 2004. He also recorded and co-produced Stuart's bootleg release Davis Does Elvis. Currently Chad is working on two artist support projects: Joining Underlining Einstein as their bass player in July of 2004, Chad recorded, co-mixed, produced, and performed on UE's lastest Demo CD. You can listen to it here.

Darby Carroll - Lead Vocals-general noise maker

Testing 1-2-3....Testing 1-2... is this thing on? It's hard for me to do the official, Hi my name is Darby Carroll and I was born in blah blah blah, thing. I will say that I am a Pisces, a native and I LOVE Colorado! I sang my way out of the whomb, through highschool (Columbine, long before the horrific massacre)and the Art Institute. Eventually, I was lucky enough to land a gig with Turnsol in the mid nineties as a backing vocalist. Soon thereafter, I decided to let Michelle and The Book of Runes school me for four years, one of the best experiences of my life. We traveled, ROCKED and oh yeah, partied more than any living creatures should.. What a ride! Eventually, I met a guy who new a gal who was married to this keyboardist whose band was looking for a gal.... Members of Underlining Einstein have been together upwards of six years and we've been blessed to work with some amazing musicians in that time. We rounded out our tribe with Phil over a year ago, he and his family definitely completes ours. I've never felt more like a band with any other, these four men are some of the best (let's not forget absolutely out of their damn minds, anally retentive at times (like 24/7) when issues like major 5th's, where the hell is Darby?... and who was responsible for totally screwing up while on stage come up..) musicians and buds that I've had the honor of rocking with. Our chemistry is clear on stage, we LOVE entertaining our pals, ROCKING OUT, partying and playing music together! BRING THE NOISE!
