Chad Phillips - Bass
Posted May 7th, 2005 by chad
Born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1970, Chad's interests and spiritual makeup drove him gradually westward, ending up in Boulder around mid-2003. With a late start (he didn't play an instrument until he was 20--hell, he didn't get laid until he was 20...) there was a lot of catching up to do. In 1996, Chad co-founded Harmony Hut Records, a small private recording studio nestled in the woods of Ambridge, PA--where he began to hone his skills as a recording musician and engineer/producer. When the studio dissolved in 2001 Chad took a break from music, picking it back up when he moved to Boulder. He spent a year on the management team for Dharma Pop Records, where he was in charge of accounting, distribution, and systems design (yawn...). During this time he began playing bass for the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Stuart Davis, ocassionally touring with Stuart, and appearing as the bass player in his live concert DVD in June, 2004. He also recorded and co-produced Stuart's bootleg release Davis Does Elvis. Currently Chad is working on two artist support projects:

- outofprintdownloads.com - a website dedicated to providing downloadable albums for artists whose work has gone out of print
- Music Non-Profit - As yet unnamed, this is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to assist talented singer/songwriters in their transition to full time touring musicians
